molar mass of H₂O = 2(1.01) + 16.00 = 18.02 g/mol
moles = 36 / 18.02 ≈ 2.0 mol
Once a student understands that a mole is just a counting unit — 6.022 × 10²³ particles — the whole topic stops being memorised steps and starts being reasoning they can rebuild under exam pressure. That's the difference between surviving Chem 11 and actually being ready for Chem 12 and beyond.
