Physics 12 carries weight beyond the grade. It is a prerequisite for engineering and most physical-science programs at UBC and SFU, which means a Vancouver student's options for two years out are partly decided in this course.
It is also the course where partial credit changes character. Examiners are marking a line of reasoning, so an answer that appears with no visible argument earns little — even when it is right. We teach the physics and the way it has to be shown.
Almost never at the algebra. It goes wrong at the setup — a vector resolved along the wrong axis, a force left off the diagram, a sign convention chosen halfway through. The arithmetic then faithfully produces a confident wrong answer.
So we spend our time where the marks are lost. Diagram first, axes named, every force accounted for, and only then any equation. Students find their accuracy improves before their speed does, which is the right order.
Sessions run online across Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, Point Grey, Oakridge, Downtown and East Vancouver, or in person at our Burnaby centre via SkyTrain. Work is aligned to the BC curriculum, and can be pointed at a final exam or a specific unit that has stopped making sense.

Excellent tutor for university-level calculus. He breaks down complex topics step-by-step and helps with exam preparation. Highly recommended for any engineering or science student.
University Student

Amazing tutoring experience! Chemistry was my weakest subject, but the classes made it so easy to understand. I got an A on my final exam.
High School Student

Highly professional and dedicated. The structured study plan helped my son stay on track. He look forward to his classes every week.

The best way to know whether our teaching style is right for your child is to experience it directly.
Have questions? We've answered the most common questions students and parents ask before enrolling.
For engineering and most physical-science programs it is a prerequisite, not a bonus — and the grade is part of a competitive admission average. It is also assumed knowledge in first-year physics, so a shaky Physics 12 tends to resurface in first term.
Usually the reasoning is happening in their head and never reaching the page, so there is nothing for an examiner to award. It is a fixable presentation problem rather than a physics problem, and it is one of the fastest improvements we see.
Yes. Plenty of Vancouver students come to us for circular motion or electromagnetism specifically, having been fine everywhere else. There is no requirement to commit to the whole course.
