We tailor each lesson to West Vancouver's academically strong schools and to the BC and IB curricula, supporting students from Grade 6 through Pre-Calculus 12, AP, IB and university-level courses. Our goal is steady, confident mastery — not just a quick fix before the next test.

There is a recognisable pattern. The student handles anything that resembles a worked example, but stalls completely on a problem phrased in an unfamiliar way. They can apply a formula and cannot say where it comes from. They lose marks on the derivation and gain them back on the arithmetic.
None of this shows up while a course stays computational, which is why it so often surfaces for the first time in Grade 12 or in Higher Level — by which point the student has built two years of confidence on a foundation that was never tested. Catching it earlier is far less disruptive than repairing it during a graduating year.
Not every student who needs a tutor is behind. Some are bored, which looks like carelessness and gets treated as an attitude problem when it is really an unmet appetite.
For those students we work above the syllabus: harder and less familiar problems, competition-style questions, and early exposure to ideas from university mathematics. The aim is not to race ahead through the curriculum but to make the subject interesting again, which in our experience does more for a mark than another set of routine exercises.
